In this video, we want to examine the BIA method and the 3D body scanner.
What is BIA?
human body is composed of four main components:
water, fat ,protein and minerals.
having a moderate amount of each component is important for a healthy life.
and the BIA is considered as one of the most practical methods to know.
this method applies small currents throughout the body and measures the voltage to get impedance value.
the principle behind BIA is to flow electrical currents throughout the water in the body.
to measure the amount of resistance the current encounters as it travels.
simply more water will lead to lower impedance.
for example although the two men weigh the same.
“A” has a higher amount of muscle mass than “B”.
since muscle cells hold more water than fat cells.
Electric currents can easily pass through the muscles of person A.
And show a relatively smaller amount of impedance compared to the body of person “B”.
With this impedance data, the total volume of a person’s body water is determined, and then the person’s body composition is calculated.
Inbody technology
BIA Devices usually consist of eight electrodes that measure resistance by the reciprocating electric current from the hands and feet, and then the body composition is determined.
Introducing 3D body scanners
What is a 3D body scanner? It is a device that monitors differences in body, body shape and measuring the health index. Anea 3D scanner is one of the most famous of these scanners.
Anea 3D body scanner technology
Anea technology is based on recording points on the body surface. Anea consists of two parts: hardware and software.
The hardware part consists of 2 devices: tower and platform. Also, the software part is managed by a computer system.
The person who wants to be scanned needs to stand on the platform. The person’s weight is measured with high accuracy weight sensors that are placed under the platform.
A depth camera is placed in the Anea Tower whose located in front of the platform. After the 360-degree image capturing of the person, the camera’s data is processed by Anea software, and then a three-dimensional model of the person’s body is produced.
Anea software can report the obtained outputs in the result sheet.
